Cora Beth + Cole
-The First Encounter-
I always love when my clients tell me the way they met, and I wish you could hear Cora Beth tell you their story because it truly is quite comical. What was supposed to be a first date for their best friends ended up being a double date for their friends AND Cora Beth and Cole. "We both tagged along to help make things a little less awkward for our friends," Cora Beth told me, and well, the rest is history.
Cora Beth and Cole ended up falling for each other that night at a Chili's restaurant, and they have not stopped making memories together since. "We have not stopped laughing and loving each other since, and when Cole finally popped the questions, I couldn't get my answer out fast enough!" And might I add... their proposal was picture perfect! Cole popped the big questions overlooking the New York City skyline. For the rest of this sweet blog post, I'm going to let Cora Beth tell you her sweet love story in her words. I loved reading every minute of it and her story is definitely one of my favorites! It is such a sweet reminder to keep God first not only personally, but in a marriage- and their relationship is definitely one that has been built on that. Grab some tissues and enjoy!
As we prepared for the big day, we kept our eyes focused on each other and on Jesus. We attended pre-marital counseling with our pastor from church, and we talked about focusing on the marriage, not just the wedding. As a bride-to-be, that was little hard, but the more Cole and I prayed, I felt God take the stress away from me. The wedding dress shopping, the cake tasting, picking the flowers and bridesmaids dresses, and more. While all the celebrating was fun, saying "I do" was my favorite part.
-The Big Day-
This day flew by faster than any other day in my life! I was so thankful I had a photographer and videographer that could capture the moments throughout the night so I could reminisce on how sweet this day truly was. The day started with my sweet bridesmaids gifting me with the most thoughtful scrapbook. Each bridesmaid, along with my mom and mother-in-law wrote the sweetest letters, and before I realized it, the tears were flowing! We literally spent all day getting ready, laughing, eating, and drinking (only a few mimosas), and we all took guesses on how Cole would really react when he finally saw me. After we got ready, I did my first look with my daddy, and talk about a special moment. WE both failed to hold it together LOL! This was a memory that I will never forget.
After seeing my dad, Cole and I were able to be so close, but so far away. I'm glad that we got to do this sweet moment- we were able to stand on either side of an old set of doors and hold hands. As we did, we read letters that we had written each other. While we didn't get to see each other, the touch of Cole's hand was all I needed to get me to that alter in just a few short hours.
After all the pictures were finished, the time had finally come. All the girls piled in a couple of SUVs and we drove incognito to the top of the lit pathway (Let me tell you this was a sight to see! Ha). As the music began to play, my sweet bridesmaids began walking down the aisle, and shortly after, my daddy escorted me down and gave me away. Vows were said and finally, I got to come together as one with my husband! I had waited so long to call him that, and it just felt natural. The day was truly perfect and everything I could have ever imagined!
