Red, White, and Beautiful
Happy Birthday America!
On this fourth of July, I thought I would bring to you a whimsical styled shoot that included some of my dear friends, an old vintage red truck, and a couple of beautiful horses that stole the show! As you scroll, you'll notice the red, white, and blues, and I hope it will put a smile on your face!
Captured by the talented Emily Reedstrom Photography this shoot took place at a lovely family farm tucked away in the little town of Greenville, Georgia. I had the opportunity to play the role of the designer and planner for this project (you know that makes me one happy girl), and I fell in love with the rich natural beauty that Bogle Farm had to offer. I am so glad that several other "friendors" (including my little sister and her best friend) were able to join and leave their creative mark on this shoot. They definitely helped achieve the goal of creating an all-American vibe with southern grace and elegance!
I wanted to create a free spirited, yet graceful vibe, and who better to have play dress up than a few of my girlfriends?! My friends at Uptown Gowns (Brides side note- if you need a gown Uptown Gowns is the place to go!!!!!) had the perfect wedding gown designed by Maggie Sottero that had a stunning sweetheart neckline that was drop dead gorgeous on the model. For the bridesmaids, I wanted to keep it simple, and show brides that they don't have to spend a fortune on bridesmaid's dresses. I ordered the gowns from Lulus, and for under $100 they were the perfect "something blue" for the shoot. The girls twirled and twirled in them all afternoon!
As for florals, my genius floral friend, Kim Nelson at Bloomwood Designs, created a whimsical bouquet fit for a queen. It was the perfect combination of formal and whimsical-my favorites were the blue thistles that made it pop! Next, my dear friend, Julie at By Invitation, made a stunning invitation suite that fit our theme beautifully.
I have a special place in my heart for a beautiful tablescape, and thanks to the Prissy Plate Company, this table was one fit for royalty. I absolutely loved the blue goblets that we used. As for the setting, I didn't want a farm with your typical barn. Instead, I wanted one with fields galore and unique charm. The barn at Bogle Farm was exactly what I was looking for- it's not your standard barn at all! Instead, it is open and can be perfect for a ceremony or reception. I decided to use the space as a ceremony setting, and then created a cocktail area with one of their custom made rolling bar carts. I decided to show off their gorgeous barn doors and made them the focal point of the "cocktail hour."
No styled shoot (or event for that matter) is complete without CAKE! Kaylynn's Cakes, made a delicious cake that was simple, but ever so elegant. I also found adorable forks that had the sweetest message (look closely and your heart will skip a beat). I'm so happy that I found this venue because it gave us the perfect backdrop for an effortless feel, and let's be honest, those horses stole the show! Once we transitioned to the fields with the horses, we wanted the girls have even more fun- with a quick dress change for our bride (the long sleeve dress was provided by Lulus) and added floral crowns, the girls laughed as they held oversized balloons, threw dried floral confetti, and gave love to the horses. Picture perfect if you ask me!"
